THE Old Muse in Brecon was a hive of creative activity during the town’s Baroque Festival recently when it was converted to a Venetian style coffee house.

Members of the Rhyd Rococo Weavers worked with local children and Powys Daycare Services to produce Venetian themed artwork including gondolas, masks and a mosaic wall hanging.

The craft items and artworks were on display at the Old Muse, which became the ‘Caffé Florian’, for the duration of the festival.

Community project coordinator Kate Lewis and designer Luned Gwawr Evans said: “We’ve spent eight weeks creating these lovely things with the Ryhd Rococo Weavers and Powys Daycare Services and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it.

“We’re looking forward to hearing what next year’s theme will be.”
