A care provider which supports people in their own homes was the unanimous choice to receive the special Judges Award at the Powys Business Awards.
Silver Assist Home Care from Llangorse, which was established three years ago and has 17 employees, collected the award at a ceremony held at The Hafren, Newtown last Friday.
Showcasing the diverse range of successful enterprises within Powys, the awards are organised by Mid Wales Manufacturing Group, who sponsored the discretionary Judges Award.
“We were very grateful to be selected as a finalist, so to win the Judges Special Award was more than we expected,” said Samantha Evans, managing director of Silver Assist Home Care. “We are incredibly passionate about what we do.
“I started the business sat on a sofa in my pyjamas and I still can’t believe that we are now have a team of 19 who are making a positive impact in the lives of 55 clients. People are our business and everyone works well together.”
The company was a runner-up for the Business in the Community Award, sponsored by EDF. “We believe community is at the heart of everything we do,” added Samantha.
“We deliver high-quality, person-centred care to individuals who wish to retain their independence and quality of life in their own homes.
“But our purpose extends beyond care - we are deeply committed to engaging, educating and uplifting our wider community in Powys. We have worked hard to foster genuine, lasting relationships with our clients, their families, local health and social care professionals, schools and community groups.”
