Temporary restrictions Llangorse Lake placed on several water activities have been lifted after their blue-green algae bloom has cleared.
Yesterday, the team at the lake announced that the algae had cleared.
They announced last Friday, 10 July, that they had placed temporary restrictions on waterskiing, paddleboarding, kayaking or any immersive sports on the lake, but they are all now back in play.
Blue-green algae can cause skin irritation, stomach issues, and is especially harmful to children and pets if ingested.
A spokesperson for the lake management team last week said: “Our ultrasound buoys are working to clear the bloom, which we hope to be short lived.”
And they have now shared the update that the watersports are no longer restricted and the algae has cleared. On a Facebook post they said: “Great news, the blue-green algae bloom has cleared! There has been no visible blue-green algae since Sunday, and the lake has passed all toxin tests.
“Spot something unusual? If you see any signs of blue-green algae in the future, please report it to us immediately.
“Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Enjoy the lake safely!”
