Plaid Cymru’s Dafydd Llewelyn is the new Dyfed-Powys Police and Crime Commissioner, after defeating previous PCC Christopher Salmon.
Mr Llewelyn won the first preference voting by 52,469 to Mr Salmon’s 47,093. In second preferences he triumphed by 22,689 votes to 12,209.
In his pitch to voters, Mr Llewelyn said: "As your commissioner, the security and safety of Dyfed-Powys will always come before party politics.
"I will provide a leadership you can trust and work with the chief constable to deliver a motivated workforce within an efficient and effective model for local policing and criminal justice."
The former intelligence analyst has pledged to prioritise road safety.
