A BRECON woman has had 20 inches of her hair sheared off to help two different charities.

Annie Richardson, 38, donated her locks to the Little Princess Trust who make wigs out of real hair for ill children who have lost their hair.

She also raised over £500 for Macmillan Cancer as she ‘braved the shave’ on Saturday, August 5.

Annie, who helps out with Rainbows in Brecon, had her hair cut by stylist Kali McAllister from Ship Shape Hair on Ship Street in Brecon.

While she intended to go fully bald, Annie was unable to because of dry skin on her scalp so she had to have a small amount of hair left on her head.

She said: “It’s the smallest layer of hair and it just feels a bit fluffy. It’s very soft and smooth now. It can be a bit cold now and again, but it is already growing back. It feels funny if it rains but at least it doesn’t take long to dry now.”
