A WOMAN from Hay-on-Wye has written down her memoirs in a book called 'A Life is What You Get.'

At the age of 91, Lynn Trowbridge has reflected on her life with pride after she beat the odds and won.

Lynn lost her parents at the age of 10 to TB (Tuberculosis) and lived in a home with her four-year-old sister for 'waifs and strays.'

Years after being ashamed of her past and being embarrassed of her upbringing, a stark reminder from someone who had recognised her from their school days she decided to unearth her past. With encouragement from friends and the former chair of Hay Writers' Group, she sat down at her home in Hay-on-Wye and wrote her memoirs.

A Life is What You Get, which Lynn decided to publish herself, is being read by members of Hay Writers' Group and will be available on Amazon later this spring.
