THE Talgarth Luncheon Club’s annual Macmillan Welsh Tea took place on Tuesday, October 24.
It was also held in memory of Brian Kite who passed away earlier this year and was organised by volunteers from the Luncheon Club and Brian’s friends.
It was attended by many residents, members of the Town Council and elderly members of the community, bussed in by the Brecon Dial-a-Ride team.
A raffle was held with donations from residents and local businesses. As usual there was a fabulous spread of donated cakes and sandwiches. Cynthia Argent, one of the organisers said she was delighted with the support for the event which she said had already raised £1,850 for the Macmillan Cancer Support cause.
Thanking those who attended, Alun Tandy of Macmillan Cancer Support South West Wales spoke of how vital the fundraising is and expressed his thanks on behalf of the charity for the event held in Talgarth Town Hall. The volunteer team from the Luncheon Club would like to thank the community for their generosity once again in supporting this vital Cancer Charity.
