The Albert Hall in Llandrindod Wells is set to come alive next week as Llandrindod Wells Theatre Company stages the beloved pantomime Aladdin, written by Warren McWilliams and published by Lazy Bee Scripts.
The production runs from January 23 to January 25 and promises an entertaining mix of music, comedy, and traditional panto fun.
This year sees the return of Keith Davies as director and producer after a six-year break from pantomime. The company has welcomed his comeback, praising his experience and enthusiasm for bringing renewed energy to the production. Several cast members are taking on new roles: Emma Davies steps into the role of principal boy for the first time, Gareth Jones makes his villain debut as the evil Abanazar, and Kieran Davies takes on the iconic dame role of Widow Twankey.

The show retains a strong family focus, with relatives appearing across principal roles, chorus, and backstage teams. In total, the production features a 44-strong cast, including a 29-member chorus, with many performers appearing in panto for the first time.

Behind the scenes, Dave Morgan assumes the role of stage manager, leading a dedicated crew of nine to ensure the technical aspects run smoothly. Music will be performed live by a four-piece band led by Suzanne Kendrick under the musical direction of Zoë Evans, adding energy and depth to the performance. Choreographer Jemma Thomas has created a series of lively dance routines, while Mandy Davies, assisted by Rose McGrandle, has designed and made a stunning array of colourful costumes to enhance the visual spectacle.

With plenty of laughs, lively music and dazzling costumes, this year’s production of Aladdin is shaping up to be one of the company’s most memorable yet.
Tickets for this year’s pantomime are available to purchase from Coversure Insurance on Middleton Street.
