AS a result of opening her garden in Builth Wells to the public for three afternoons earlier this year, Mair Main has raised £1,700 for charity.

Mair of Tyrafon, Golf Links Road, who lives for her garden had nearly 200 people come through on the three occasions.

For those who visited there were some stalls including a cake stall, a new stall and a raffle to help raise the monies.

She also provided refreshments for her guests with the help of her friends and neighbours.

Mair is always thinking up new ideas for displays and where they should go in the garden and now she is already planning the garden layout for next year.

As a result of her efforts she presented Mia Ellis a trustee of Bracken Trust with a cheque for £1,000 from the proceeds and the remaining £700 that she raised has been donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
