The fastest rider in this year’s Man v Horse race has donated her £250 prize to the Wales Air Ambulance.

Gabi Morley, from Lampeter, was the first horse rider to finish the race, held on Saturday, June 14, riding Gweni. Although runner Dewi Griffiths was the overall winner at this year’s event, Gabi claimed the top rider spot and was awarded the £250 prize by organisers Green Events.

She declined the money and instead asked for it to be donated to the air ambulance charity.

Green Events handed over the cheque recently at the Neuadd Arms Hotel in Llanwrtyd Wells – where the Man v Horse race was famously dreamed up over a pint back in June 1980.
