A COMPETITOR in one of Britain's whackiest races claims she has been unfairly stripped of victory.

Alix Davies and her horse Scott were the first participants to cross the finish line in Llanwrtyd Wells' famous Man v Horse marathon.

But despite race officials pinning the winner's rosette on 18-year-old Alix - moments later she was told she had been disqualified.

The Newbridge-on-Wye rider fumed: "I won the event and I've not even been given a proper explanation as to why I was disqualified."

Organisers Green Events said the decision was based on advice from vets.
