The Llandrindod May Fair 2019 was held on Bank Holiday Monday with nearly 40 stallholders crowding into the Metropole Hotel.

The ninth annual event was opened jointly by the Metropole Hotel’s owner Justin Baird-Murray and Llandrindod Wells town crier Janet Swindale.

The fair is organised by the Llandrindod Wells Transition Group and celebrates the many clubs, organisations and societies in the town as well as promoting local crafts, trades, services and charities.

This year’s fair was intended to be a plastic free event and included a ‘zero waste corner’ where people could find out about what they could do to reduce waste.

The fair also featured the launch of Refill Llandrindod, a water-saving initiative which is encouraging people to save on the use of plastic water bottles by having them refilled.

Other aspects of the May Fair, which was free to enter, included live music from local performers, a May Fair prize draw, arts and crafts and health and fitness and a host of activities for children and young families.
