SINGER-SONGWRITER Michael Kiwanuka has been announced as the headline act at this year’s Green Man festival.
Other headliners for the festival, that takes place at Glanusk Park near Crickhowell from August 20 to 23, are Mac Demarco playing his only UK show, Caribou and Little Dragon.
The headline slot is a return for Hero singer Kiwanuka who had played the festival before his breakthrough success.
An announcement from the festival said: "We are thrilled that almost 10 years after his Walled Garden debut, Michael Kiwanuka headlines Green Man 2020 bringing his ‘raw music for raw souls’ back to the Beacons and our Mountain Stage, mesmerising us all with heavy soulful flavours from wonderful recent ‘Kiwanuka’ LP and beyond."
The other acts are described as ranging from dance to indie rock.
Caribou combine "dance floor soundscapes and mind-blowing visuals" while Mac DeMarco has "slacker charisma" and indie rock tunes while Little Dragon mix "everything" from underground dance to downtempo soul.
Goldfrapp are making their Green Man debut on the 20th anniversary of their seminal Felt Mountain album.
Others announced for the festival, with tickets having gone on sale this morning, are three-time Grammy Award-winning alt-country singer Lucinda Williams, LUMP the collaborative project between Laura Marling and Mike Lindsay, and Parquet Courts.
