A woman whose disappearance has sparked a murder investigation is thought to have moved to Knighton earlier this year.

Hollie Kerrell, 28, was last seen on Sunday, April 22, at her home in Knighton at around 10am.

Dyfed-Powys Police, which on Wednesday announced it had arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of murder, is appealing for any of sightings of Hollie from 5pm on Saturday, April 21.

Hollie, a mum, is understood to have lived in Kingsbridge, in south Devon, until earlier this year when it understood she moved to Knighton.

The Southhams-today.co.uk website has reported Hollie, who’s maiden name was Simmons, had attended Kingsbridge Community College and was due to return to the area to visit friends in the next few weeks.

No one has heard from Hollie since Sunday morning with her car still outside her home and friends, who since Monday have been sharing appeals on social media to find her since her, say she would never have left her children.

Police have set up an incident room at Llandrindod Wells Police Station and are appealing for anyone with sightings or information to contact them on 101. The arrested man remains in police custody.

Superintendent Jon Cummins, who is leading the investigation, said: “Although there has been a significant development in this investigation in respect of an arrest taking place, we still need the help of the public in this enquiry.

“We’re appealing to anyone with any information or sightings of Hollie from 5pm on Saturday, April 21, onwards to contact us as a matter of urgency. She is described as being 5’5”, medium build with dark brown hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black skirt and long black cardigan when last seen.

“Please, if you have any information contact us by calling 101.”
