A PRESSURE group has logged objections to a proposed wind farm near to common land in Radnorshire.

The proposal for seven 110 wind turbines on land near the A44 south west of Llandegley, near Llandegley Rhos Common has already received objections from Penybont Community Council and now the Open Spaces Society, which describes itself as Britain's leading pressure-group for common land, has objected to two applications lodged by Hendy Wind Farm Ltd.

An application for planning permission has already been lodged with Powys County Council while developers must seek permission from the Welsh Government for permission to create access for heavy construction vehicles across the common as well as its bid to exchange a parcel of common land.

Kate Ashbrook, general secretary of the Open Spaces Society said that the application would 'devastate' the common and 'obliterate' the view of Llandegley Rocks.
