DYFED Powys Police is investigating a fatal road crash near Builth Wells that left a motorcyclist dead.
The accident occurred at approximately 7.30pm last Wednesday, August 3, on the B4520 between Builth Wells and Upper Chapel.
Two vehicles were involved, a Triumph motorcycle, that was being ridden by a 49-year-old male from the Cardiff area and a VW Caddy van being driven by a woman from Talgarth.
The motorcyclist was transferred to Morriston Hospital in Swansea by police helicopter but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The female driver was uninjured.
The road was closed until 12.30am to allow for the initial investigation to take place.
The Powys coroner has been informed.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, who are asked to ring 101 and leave a message for PC 453 Sara John at Brecon Police Station.
