A Brecon Mountain Rescue Team volunteer is set to give a talk about the group’s essential work in the town over the weekend.

Martin Gregory will be giving the talk about the rescue team’s history as well as the essential service it provides in the Brecon Beacons at Brecon Men’s Shed at 10am this Saturday, December 18.

The talk is one of a series of talks and presentations being held throughout the rest of this year and into 2022.

Anybody who is interested in finding out more about Brecon MRT is Brecon Men’s Shed is a friendly and welcoming meeting place for men to undertake a variety of activities, with the HQ being at Brecon Volunteer Bureau.

The group meet on the first Saturday and third Saturday of every month in the Queenshead Market Vaults.

Brecon MRT have been the talk of the town with the temporary opening of their pop-up shop on Bethel Square.

It was open last Saturday, December 11, and will be open again this Saturday, December 18, where it sells official merchandise and second hand clothes.

The pop-up store comes shortly after the voluntary team’s launch of its online shop which was created with the aim of raising essential funds towards its annual £55,000 running costs.
