MS James was ‘honoured’ to be a judge at the Brecknock YFC public speaking day

Brecknock YFC held their Public Speaking Day at Builth Wells over the weekend including special guest Brecon and Radnorshire MS James Evans.

A former Breconcknock YFC member, Mr Evans attended the event on Sunday 17th October 2021 at Ysgol Calon Cymru’s Builth Wells campus.

The Sennybridge team came in first place in the English Brains Trust Debate - one of various debates throughout the day - with the Pontfaen team coming in a close second place.

Mr Evans, who congratulated all of the participants in the debate, said he was “honoured” to be included as one of the judges at the event.

James Evans MS - who is pictured right with the a member of the winning team - said: “I was honoured to judge the English Brains Trust Debate. In first place was Sennybridge team and a close second was Pontfaen.

“I was an active member of YFC in the Brecon and Radnorshire area and believe the skills taught within the organisation are second to none I was thoroughly impressed with the level of robust debate and open mindedness on display.

“Well done to all the competitors for a lively, interesting debate on the hot topics of the day!”
