Nature lovers of all ages, abilities, skills and backgrounds are needed to help at a ‘volunteer day’ near Crossgates, Llandrindod Wells.

The volunteer day will take place on Wednesday, February 14.

The event is organised by Llandrindod Wells-based, non-profit organisation Wilba, which has been set up with the aim of helping farmers and landowners to protect nature and wildlife.

Volunteers are needed on the day to help plant a hedgerow to support habitat in Radnorshire.

Volunteers are welcome to join the Wilba team out in the wilds of Radnorshire and spend as much time helping as they can during the day.

The event could even make the perfect day out for a family during half term.

Wilba Projects and Marketing Coordinator Rachael Lewis said “Our small team is taking grass roots action now and we would love your help. There are no special skills or prior knowledge needed, we welcome people of all ages and abilities.

“We simply aim to work with farmers and other landowners in our community to make small, practical, wildlife friendly changes on their land. We hope that each area of wetland left untouched, or hedgerow replanted will combine to make a lasting difference.”
