The ‘Off the Wall’ charity auction held at Llangorse Youth & Community Centre on Saturday, February2, was a great success in spite of poor weather conditions.
Grateful thanks to everyone who helped with organising the event and to all those who attended or made donations.
The money raised on the night came to a fantastic £1,111, which will go towards the demolition and rebuild of the Llangorse Common Community Toilets (Charity No. 1178226).
It is planned that this resource-efficient project will be completed by the end of 2019.
The new toilets will all be unisex and include a disabled toilet with baby and adult changing facilities, as well as a water drinking fountain, an electric car charging point and an area with dog wash facilities.
Solar panels are planned as is rain water harvesting to be used for toilet flushing, thus reducing water bills.
If you wish to donate towards this project please contact Jim Price on 01874 658616. You will be contributing to an exciting challenge aimed at benefitting the local community and visitors to the beautiful Llangorse Lake and common.
We gratefully acknowledge grants received from the Welsh Rural development programme, Powys County Council, Brecon Beacons National Park Sustainable Development Fund and the National lottery Community fund.
