POWYS County Council has delivered an early Christmas present to Mid Wales shoppers by announcing that there will be a period of free parking in the lead-up to the festive period.

The local authority will be spreading the joy this December after it announced that all its pay and display car parks in Powys will be free between December 8 and Christmas Eve.

Parking will be free in council owned pay and display car parks from 10am each day.
