THE Penybont and District Charity Group staged their annual Community Fun Day at the Penybont Racecourse at the weekend.
The day started with about fifty tractors participating in a thirty mile tractor run from Upper Swydd and ending at the Racecourse later in the day.
At the same time a series of show jumping was staged on the racecourse organised by Julie Peter and John Phillips. The sponsors for the horse jumping were John Philips, Julie Peter, Jean Tombs and Joan Evans.
The day’s activities also included children’s races, football and rounders competitions together with side stalls and a barbeque and bar. Proceeds from the day’s activities will be divided between the Llandrindod Wells First Responders and Mid Powys Mind Mums Matter. The chairman of the event was Andrew Davies supported by a committee with the overall sponsor being Philip Haulage Ltd.
Last year the event raised in the region of £1500 and it is hoped to raise a similar amount this year.
