BURGLARS broke into a house and drove away in the householder’s Land Rover Defender.

The black Land Rover Defender 90 was taken from the house in Llangattock either late on Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police are appealing for information about a silver BMW, with two men inside, that was in the area at the time of the theft. They also believe a black Renault Clio abandoned in the Llangattock area is linked to the the stolen Land Rover.

The burglary happened between 10pm on Friday, June 10 and 5.30am the following morning.

The registration of the Land Rover Defender 90, which is believed to have been driven away in the direction of Crickhowell, is RON931R.

Pc Joanna Davies, of Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "The offenders have entered an address in the Llangattock area and stolen the keys to a black Land Rover Defender 90. They have then used these keys to steal the occupant’s Land Rover from the premises."

Police say the Clio, which was reported as abandoned by a member of the public, was sold to unknown people during the last two weeks.
