A non-profit community interest company with its roots in Powys has won two national awards.

9Trees started in Powys but now has branches in many UK counties.

The company, from Builth Wells, took home both the Microbusiness of the Year Award and the Sustainability Award in Wales, through The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

9Trees was awarded the Wales-wide FSB Micro Business Award by tackling climate change, restoring new woodland habitats, promoting biodiversity and creating jobs within the countryside sector.

The company offer skills and experiences to volunteers and supporters who find outdoor environments beneficial for health and wellbeing.

Michael Cunningham, 9Trees MD and Founder, from Erwood Station said: “We are delighted to be recognised for two awards for Sustainability and Microbusiness of the Year.”

The awards were received last month at a ceremony in Cardiff.

Yzabella Hill, 9Trees Director, from Llandrindod Wells added: “We have also won 'The Natural Environment Award' for the South West of England and we have been nominated by Conservation Optimism for the 'Earth Shot Prize.”
