CANCER sufferers in Brecon and Radnorshire are facing an extra £2,500 in costs and are largely unaware of benefits they are entitled too.
Charity Macmillan Cancer Support says that people already dealing with the horrendous disease in Powys are being hindered by costs racked up due to travelling long distances for treatment, on top of loss of income.
Nowhere do these costs affect any sufferers as much as those diagnosed with cancer in Powys, says the report, with residents miles away from any hospitals where treatment is available.
