The Best of Brecon Awards, organised by Brecon Town Council, celebrate the work of volunteers and community groups in Brecon.

Brecon Town Council is encouraging residents, community groups and businesses to nominate volunteers to win awards in nine special categories.

This year’s event will be held on Thursday, July 2 at the Guildhall.

The categories are:

• Young volunteer award

• Volunteer of the year award

• Award for voluntary group or team of the year

• Personal achievement award

• Community business award

• Making a Positive Environmental Difference award

• Sport, Wellbeing and Health award

• Charitable Fundraising award

• Mayor’s award for outstanding contribution

This year, there are two new categories - the ‘Sport, Wellbeing and Health award’ and the ‘Charitable Fundraising’ award. The town council says it looks forward to hearing all about the fantastic voluntary work being carried out in these sectors.

If you know an individual or group whose work or actions have benefitted Brecon, enhanced the area, or someone’s quality of life, please let Brecon Town Council know by submitting a nomination.
