POWYS County Council are planning to cut services including the meals on wheels service and increasing charges at day centres.
The council, which has to make savings of more than £16 million in the 2015/16 financial year, will also increase its planned rise in council tax.
Originally it had intended hiking council tax by 2.25per cent but a rise of 4 per cent will not be recommended to the council in March.
Other cuts include further redundancies, axing funding support for theatres to save £283,500, reducing spending fro additional learning needs (ALN) units - which were only saved from the axe completely earlier this year- by £600,000 and reviewing a bilingual allowance for primary schools.
Support for community sports is being slashed and they are looking to transfer play areas to community councils as well as numerous other services.
