PRINCE Charles was all revved up for the weekend when he dropped the flag to start a motorbike parade around Llandovery.
The parade was to celebrate the Llandovery Motorbike Weekend which runs until Sunday.
Charles and wife Camilla have been touring Wales all week and have also hosted a Roald Dahl inspired entertainment evening at their Llwynywermod home at Myddfai, near Llandovery.
Before starting the parade the prince met people taking part in the festival and representatives from the fire service and the military.
Organisers of the motorbike weekend hope it will encourage people to visit Llandovery and spend money in the town’s shops, hotels and restaurants.
During the weekend, there will be an emphasis on safety with first aid training and enhanced biker training taster sessions.
There are trade and food stalls in the town and a raffle is supporting the Wales Air Ambulance and the Royal British Legion.
At the Castle Hotel Charles also signed a book of his own watercolours which will be auctioned for charity.
The prince is also attending a charity lunch in aid of his charity PRIME Cymru which provides advice and support to individuals over the age of 50 who are economically inactive, under employed or at risk of redundancy. The charity also helps those at risk of being marginalised and those facing older age poverty.
PRIME Cymru runs the largest mentoring programme in Wales with over 360 volunteer mentors who support clients to find employment, start their own businesses or enter appropriate volunteering to gain skills and confidence.
