POWYS could be left without county council managed public toilets next year.
The authority has said it is seeking community groups and town and community councils to take over the running of its 38 public toilets by March 2014.
The move, which aims to save £980,000, is part of the council's plan to save £35 million over three years.
Most of the 38 toilets which include sites at Brecon's bus interchange and conveniences at Ystradgynlais transport interchange, which were only built this year, will close in October, unless new operators step forward.
The council has also said it is making £10,000 available to private businesses such as cafes to open up their toilets to non customers.
