SENNYBRIDGE Primary School recently said a fond farewell to catering assistant Linda Jones, who has retired after 24 years of service at Sennybridge School.
Linda was the longest serving member of staff and, according to head teacher Kathryn Price, “will be missed by pupils, staff and the school community”.
Linda was presented with a bouquet of flowers and a cake by pupils representing each year at the school. Linda said: “I am very fortunate to have been working at such a lovely school with such friendly children, staff and school community. I will miss everyone!’
While Ms Price said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to Linda, for her commitment and dedication to the school and we all wish her a very happy, healthy and long retirement.”
Meanwhile, the school’s pupils helped to raise £590 at their annual Macmillan Cancer Support community coffee morning. Senior School councillors helped to set up and organise the event and parents and friends baked a wonderful selection of cakes and donated generous raffle prizes.
Giglios Coffee Shop in Brecon donated a cake which was auctioned off to the highest bidder, Rachel Evans-Taylor. Ms Price said: “A huge thank you to everyone for their support for a very worthwhile cause.”
