A stray rabbit, which is believed to have been abandoned, has been found near Knighton.
The cream coloured bunny was found in the parking area of Kinsley Wood near the town on Saturday, September 1 at around 3.30pm.
Animal charity RSPCA Cymru is appealing for information about the rabbit, which has since been nicknamed Ralph, which they believe was dumped as it was found over a mile away from the nearest houses.
RSPCA inspector Rachael Davies said: "We believe this poor rabbit may have been dumped as the nearest houses are around one to two miles away and the rabbit was found straying in the parking area.
"The caller kindly confined him and took the rabbit home until I was able to attend."
Ms Davies said they are looking to find out how the rabbit got there and whether he has an owner which is looking for him.
She reported that Ralph the rabbit isn’t injured and, other than being slightly underweight, has no obvious health concerns - he has since been placed into care at RSPCA Bryn-y-Maen.
The inspector said: "We will never truly know why people abandon animals. Our experience tells us that it could be down to a number of reasons, for example when owners are unable to cope whether that be with an animal’s behaviour, the costs of keeping the pet or other things in their life take over and they opt to dump them."
