Radnorshire town receives its first water refill station

The first official water refill station has opened in Rhayader as the town has joined the Refill Revolution.

Residents and visitors to the town, which has joined the UK-wide scheme started by the not-for-profit organisation City to Sea, can visit Hafod Hardware, which now has the official Refill sticker in the window, to fill up their reusable water bottles.

Refill Llandrindod helped the town to get on board with the scheme which has an app for smartphones showing the exact locations of all the refill stations in the user’s area.

Tom Jones, who works at the shop which is owned by his grandparents, said: “This is just phase one in our attempts to reduce plastic usage at Hafod Hardware and in the community. Watch this space.”
