VOLUNTEERS of the Powys Area Ramblers are teaming up with the Elan Valley Trust to offer guided walks in and around the beautiful Elan Valley throughout 2018.
The first walk is on March 26 and is a figure of eight walk of four or eight miles around Ty’n-y-pant and Nant Madog from the Elan Village. The programme will continue throughout the year, with various walks available for everyone to join.
This is an exciting new initiative between the Elan Valley Trust and Powys Ramblers. Lead volunteer of Powys Ramblers, Chris Jones said “In Powys Ramblers our aim is to encourage people to get outside and enjoy the stunning walks we have in our local area. Collaborating with Elan Valley Trust, we hope to encourage even more people to enjoy the benefits walking brings”.
Powys Ramblers are working to ensure Wales is a world class walking destination. As well as leading weekly walks and promoting health benefits of walking, the volunteers also work tirelessly to protect the places we all love to walk through maintaining the footpaths and ensuring paths are kept open.
To join the walk on March 26 or any other walk, check out Elan Valley Trust’s Events booklet or www.elanvalley.org.uk/events.
