A RADNORSHIRE couple killed in a motorcycle collision near Shrewsbury have been named.

Kevin Byrne, who was aged 48, and his 49-year-old wife Carol, died when their motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a Vauxhall Astra car on Sunday afternoon, April 21.

They lived at Hazelmere Estate, Rhayader, Powys and were pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the A458 at Rowton, Halfway House, between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.

The occupants of the Astra car received minor injuries. West Mercia Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000.

An inquest is expected to be opened this week.
