President Jane Narborough welcomed Marion Graves, who is training to become a WIA and Cheryl Price, Powys Radnor county secretary to the February meeting.

Stephen Ashley was the evening’s speaker, giving a fascinating insight to ‘Tai Chi’.

Presentations were made by the president to Morfa Shaw with a card and orchid for her 50 years as a member of Rhayader WI and to Chris Phillips and Stephanie Champion with the Rose Bowl as joint winners of ‘Member of the Year’. Competition cups were presented to Jen Oakley (first) and Shirley Jones (second).

Wine and a piece of delicious birthday cake, made by Eira Edwards, ended a lovely friendly evening to celebrate our 88th anniversary.

The competition for ‘Something Oriental’ was judged by Marion and Cheryl. First Nancy Rose; second Dorothy Lloyd-Jones; third Jill Willey. The room raffle was won by Val Evans.

Ray Wood was due to give a talk entitled ‘The History of Daffodils’ at the March 26 meeting. The competition would be Best Decorated Spoon.
