THE A44 near Penybont has been closed since shortly after 3am this morning after a lorry carrying chickens overturned.
Dyfed-Powys Police warned the road was likely to be closed throughout the morning though no injuries to people have been reported. A police spokeswoman said the driver had reported shortness of breath following the crash in which no other vehicles are involved.
Police said the road has been closed between Penybont and Forest Inn.
A crew from the Mid and West Wales Fire Service’s Llandrindod Wells station said it attended at 3.29am to assist and make the scene safe.
A police spokeswoman said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is at the scene of a RTC involving a lorry carrying livestock (chickens), on the A44 between Penybont and Fforest Inn. The incident was reported shortly after 3am today, Friday May 3. The road is currently closed. Fire, ambulance and council are at the scene. The driver has reported shortness of breath and is receiving medical treatment. A vet is also at the scene."
