Builth Wells Rotary Club recently responded to an appeal from Brynhyfryd Care Home and their brand new vision.

The activities coordinator, Leona Grimley, had a vision for a sensory garden for the use and inclusion of the elderly residents.

This would entail turning the inside courtyard, which is currently planted with low growing shrubs, into a riot of colour and fragrance with easy access and elevated planters.

The resource would enable those residents who are wheelchair users to participate in the tabletop displays.

The Rotary club kindly donated £200 to help with the project, and to help identify other volunteer groups who may wish to be involved. It is hoped the sensory garden will open by next spring.
