A Powys Covid-19 vaccination centre in to temporarily close for two weeks for the Royal Welsh Winter Fair.

Powys Teaching Health Board said it is working with The Royal Welsh Agricultural Society to temporarily close the vaccination centre in the Showground while the festive takes place on November 29 and 30.

The Showground vaccination centre will be closed from Sunday, November 21 to Sunday, December 5. You will still be able to get a vaccine or booster jab at Bronllys and Newtown during this time.

A spokesperon for the health board said: “The Royal Welsh Winter Fair is an important part of the social, cultural, festive and economic life of the county.

“Unfortunately due the pandemic, the Winter Fair - as well as the Royal Welsh Show - have not been able to take place since 2019.

“Recognising the key role of these events, our lease with the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society includes the temporary cessation of vaccination activities for the Winter Fair as well as the Royal Welsh Show.”
