BUILTH Wells RFC youth team squad’s annual fundraising this year was for the Huntingdon’s Disease Association.

The decision to raise funds for Huntingdon’s DA was an easy one to make, Carwyn Parry an ex-player has unfortunately developed the disease.

The club hosted a variety of events including a fundraising day with various events, dances, quiz evenings, a live band night, ‘Pop Up’ charity shop and a half marathon.

On Saturday, July 1 the youth team players with Sarah Roberts from Barclays bank presented a cheque for £2,580 to Hellen Parry, his wife. Barclays match-funded £1,000.

Carwyn finished playing for Builth Wells RFC 14 years ago, having played for the club for 15 years from the age of 16, rising from the youth ranks to finish playing for the senior squads.
