COUNTRY boy Rhys Wilson stayed true to his roots when he ran the London Marathon in full hunting gear.

The agricultural student from Tirabad, near Llanwrtyd Wells, completed the 26 mile course in an impressive three hours and 32 minutes flat while wearing

breeches, a heavy green, wool jacket his patey hat and carrying a hunting whip. He was racing in support of the Countryside Alliance Foundation.

Powys County Council worker Lynnette Davies, from Llandovery, also completed the marathon and had already raised more than £3,600 towards her £4,000 fundraising target for the Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust charity.
