THE Royal Welsh Agricultural Society has donated £500 towards Builth Wells’ festive displays as a sign of the ongoing close relations between the local community, the town council and the society. The donation was a contribution towards the “magnificent effort” Builth Wells makes every year to make sure the town looks festive and welcoming in the run up to the Royal Welsh Winter Fair, which is held every year at the end of November.
Steve Hughson, chief executive of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society said “The Royal Welsh is a vibrant part of the mid Wales community and we are committed to supporting our local communities. Builth Wells makes a real effort to deliver that Christmas feel with fantastic town centre lights, which adds to our Winter Fair Christmas atmosphere. We are very happy to support the town with a donation towards the cost and look forward to working together for the benefit of the area next year.” Builth Wells town deputy Mayor, Gwyn Davies said “It was a pleasure for me to receive a cheque from Mr Steve Hughson on behalf of the RWAS for Builth Wells Christmas lights. It is essential that Builth and the RWAS continue to support each other to guarantee the future success of both parties.”
