The Met Office said to expect possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers and that some rural areas could be cut off and power cuts might occur and mobile phone coverage may be affected.
There is also a risk of injury from slips and falls on icy surfaces and untreated pavements and cycle paths might be impassable because of black ice.
Anyone driving on the roads has been reminded, by the Welsh local government’s road safety body, to drive slowly on snow and ice and to lift the accelerator early to allow their vehicle’s speed to drop gradually. Drivers needing to press their brakes should do so with very gentle pressure.
