Mid Wales Rhythm and Blues club presents Scottish duo, Liz Jones and Suzy Cargill, who will perform at The Muse in Brecon this September.
With fingers in folk and blues, Liz Jones and Suzy Cargill are an original rhythm and roots duo from Edinburgh, Scotland.
This will be the duo's first show in Wales, despite past connections to the country, with Suzy having lived in Cardiff for many years and Liz's father being from the Rhymney Valley. Both also know and work with Wales’s telecaster explosion, James Oliver, and drum sensation Mark Kemlo, since meeting as performers at Orkney Blues Festival in 2023.
The pair’s shows include eclectic percussion and mandolin from former Hong Kong Sinfonietta multi-instrumentalist Suzy Cargill, beside "a voice that could wake the dead" singer-songwriter Liz Jones, on acoustic guitar.
They perform as you would expect from two long-time friends and touring musical companions, with a gusty and loose 'whichever way the wind blows' style. A truly varied set of stories, laughs and tragedies in song, many from the repertoire of their full roots-rock 6 piece, 'Liz Jones & Broken Window'.
Dryad Music from the Netherlands described the Scottish pair as: "A watchable and uniquely natural and honest duo ... taking the songs wherever they need to go."
Liz Jones and Suzy Cargill will be at The Muse on Saturday, 13 September, with special guest act Disque Bleu - Vaudeville Meets Blues - duo from Mid Wales.
Two musicians collaborating to play a wide ranging mix of Chicago Blues, Country and a few of their own songs.
Tickets are £15. Doors will open at 7.30pm on Saturday, 13 September. The show will begin at 8pm.
