BRECON town councillors have spoken of their shock and sadness after town mayor Mike Foster died suddenly this week.

Mr Foster, who had entered office in May, had been admitted to hospital in the Midlands over the weekend on a family visit but had been given the all-clear and was later released.

An ambulance was called to the Cradoc Close home he shared with his wife Olwyn at around 5pm on Monday, July 25, but he was declared dead at the scene.
