Brecon Town Council is proud to announce the installation of Councillor Sian Drinan as the new Mayor of Brecon for the municipal year 2026-27.

The official ceremony took place during the Annual General Meeting of the Council, held on Monday, May 11, in the Guildhall Chamber, Brecon.

The event was attended by fellow councillors, family members, invited dignitaries, and guests of both the incoming and outgoing Mayors and the newly appointed Deputy Mayor. The installation marked the beginning of a new civic year for the town.

Councillor Sian Drinan, Mayor, announced that she will be raising funds for Brecon Youth Club and Dementia Matters in Powys, during her year of office.

Supporting her in her civic duties this year is Councillor Michaela Davies, who has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Brecon for 2026-27.

Brecon Town Council extends its congratulations to the new Mayor and Deputy Mayor and looks forward to another year of sustained development, participation and engagement within the town.
