One ewe had a tough Mothering Sunday, giving birth naturally to this 11kg lamb.

The pedigree Texel ram lamb is part of the Aberyscir flock which is owned by Gerwyn and Liz Rees and Family of Pencelli Castle. Gerwyn said: “He is by a ram called Caereinion Valiant which is a big poweful ram but thankfully, all his other lambs have been born unaided and weigh about 5kg each.

"It took three of us to deliver this boy but both mother and lamb are now doing well.”

But there was one family member who wasn’t quite as impressed by the birth. "Eight-month-old grandaughter, Esmae, couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about," Gerwyn said.
