A FUNDRAISING dinner, including a question and answer session with top women sports stars, is being held at the Castle Hotel in Brecon from 7.30pm on Friday, June 29.
The event is to raise funds for Velindre Cancer and is in support of a 600km sponsored cycle ride being carried out by Brecon hockey player Kate Evans. Kate (pictured) will be accompanied during the ride along the West Coast of the USA by former Olympic cyclist Becky James and ex-Wales rugby player Shane Williams.
The Q&A features Olympic gold medal-winning hockey star Crista Cullen, former Wales rugby player Jennifer Davies and ex-GB taekwondu star Maddie Davies. Tickets are on sale for £35 per person and include a course of “barbecue-themed” food and a dessert. There will also be a raffle on the night and an auction in which donated items of sports memorabilia and other items will be auctioned off. The evening will end with a disco.
