The Pontfaen YFC Illuminated Tractor and 4x4 Run is set to take place next Wednesday, December 21.

The Club would like to thank Mccartneys LLP for allowing them to start the event at Brecon Market at 6pm.

Judging will take place at 5:30pm by Welsh international rugby player and mid Wales farmer Dan Lydiate, with prizes awarded for the best dressed tractor and 4x4. The Club has thanked Wynnstay for their donation of the prizes.

Approximate timings for the run:

Tractors to meet from 5.00pm for judging at 5.30pm at Brecon Market. No spectators can be in the market.

Start at Brecon Market = 6.00pm

Brynich roundabout = 6.10pm

Groesffordd = 6.15pm

Troedyrhan = 6.20pm

Bishops Meadow = 6.30pm

Tractors will turn up Cathedral pitch

Cradoc = 6.45pm

Battle = 6.50pm

Pontfaen = 6.55pm

Merthyr Cynog = 7.10pm

Upper Chapel = 7.30pm

Lower Chapel = 7.45pm

Pwllgloyw = 7.55pm

Tractors will turn right at the bottom of Cathedral pitch and then drive through Brecon town, and they head up to Brecon High School Car Park at 8.15pm

Cars can park in Freedom Leisure and by the college.

“It was lovely to see so many residents outside their homes last year as the tractors passed by, and joining the drivers at the finish, which will be at Brecon High School car park this year.

“I’m sure this year’s Tractor Run, which will include the addition of 4x4 vehicles, will be a fantastic event for the community again!

“I’d like to thank all local businesses who have supported the event with generous sponsorship, and also thank Pontfaen YFC who have yet again put so much effort into this, it’s great to see!”

The Club would like to thank Brecon High School for accommodating all the tractors in the car park for the finish. Santa and his elves will welcome the children and hand out gifts, which have been donated by Brecon Town Council.

The Club would also like to thanks Jo Evans, grant community champion from Morrisons, for donating food for the drivers.

The evening will conclude with a grand raffle. The Club would like to thank all members who donated prizes as well as Wheelwright Arms, RWAS Ltd, New Holland Agriculture and Celtic Manor.

The Club has also thanked Maureen at Brecon Market Café, The Greyhound Hotel and The Strand Café, Builth Wells for selling tickets on their behalf.
