A RETIRED teacher is hoping to force a council to perform a U-turn over the introduction of wheelie bins.

Powys County Council is distributing the bins and four recycling boxes, including a food waste caddy, to homes as it expands its kerbside recycling service.

The new weekly recycling and food waste collections will replace the current system of collecting refuse bags alongside recycling bags every week. When the new collections start non recyclable waste will only be collected from the wheelie bins once a fortnight.
