As part of the Powys Food Strategy and Action Plan, Bwyd Powys Food have launched a Powys Food Map.
The aim of the map is to highlight the breadth of activity going on around the Powys food system and connect it up.
The map includes the following categories of activity:
● Community food provision (including food banks, community fridges, shared meals, etc.).
● Community food growing (including allotments, community gardens, etc.).
● Local food providers (highlighting where consumers can purchase locally grown or produced food).
● Events (markets, food festivals, etc. focussed on food).
The Powys Food Map is one of the actions in the Powys Strategy and Action Plan developed through engagement by Bwyd Powys Food and launched in 2024. The map aims to deliver against the Sustainable Food Places goal #2: Good Food Movement: Building public awareness, active food citizenship and a local good food movement.
Chloe Masefield, Bwyd Powys Food Coordinator for South Powys said: “The map offers an exciting opportunity for us to visualise all the incredible community activity happening across Powys on food. We hope to use it to support communities which are already active in this space, and target areas where there is little or no activity.”
The map is being continuously updated. If you know of an organisation or provision that is missing, please get in touch with Chloe Masefield [email protected].
